Made of deadstock waxed cotton, deadstock shearling, and an antique cotton sateen.
Building off of a standard Ski Jacket block, I used Opti Tex to pattern a jacket inspired by American workwear from the 1970s.

Clothing Library ProjectThe coat includes a “Garment Ticket,” which is sewn into the lining.
I designed this tag is based on a library card to record the history of future vintage clothing.
Our clothes will outlive us, in landfills or closets, and this tag aims to tell the story of where they came from and where they’ve been.
The idea behind the Clothing Library Project is that over time, the various people who wear the coat will leave notes on the lines to give it a tangible history.
My hope is that this will build a connection between each owner and the piece and encourage emotional durability of the garments.
