This collection was made from almost entirely second hand materials including antique deadstock sheets, crocheted table runners, victorian yokes, and vintage handmade lace. My intention was to create a collection that told the story of the textiles. I used a process called cyanotype to print photo negatives from the 20s-30s onto garments, which were sourced from the same estate sale as many of the textiles from the collection.

Clothing Library ProjectCalled a “Garment Ticket,” I designed this tag is based on a library card to record the history of future vintage clothing.
Our clothes will outlive us, in landfills or closets, and this tag aims to tell the story of where they came from and where they’ve been.
The idea behind the Clothing Library Project is that over time, the various people who wear the coat will leave notes on the lines to give it a tangible history.
My hope is that this will build a connection between each owner and the piece and encourage emotional durablilty of the garments.
